Engr. Charles Odita
Chairman

BSC Chemical Engineering (1st Class), FNSE

Engr. Charles Odita holds a First Class Honours, Bachelors of Engineering degree (1984) in Chemical Engineering and a Masters of Engineering (1987) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria. Thereafter, he worked as an Industrial Water Technical Sales Engineer with Pinnacle Holdings Limited in Lagos. Between 1988 and 2007, he worked with Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), with over four years of cross-posting with Netherlands Aardoile Maatschappij (NAM) in Assen, Netherlands (the local Dutch oil producing company) and Shell Research in Rijswijk, Netherlands. 

In his 20 years with Shell Upstream Oil and Gas production business, he worked in various capacities as Well Site Petroleum Engineer, Drilling Operations Engineer, Research Engineer, Project Engineer, Senior Well Engineer and finally as head of Corporate Wells Planning for SPDC.

In May 2007, he was with Notore Chemical Industries Ltd, which was the only producer of Nitrogenous Urea Fertilizer in Sub-Saharan Africa, including South Africa from 2009 to 2014. He worked initially as Chief Technical Officer, The Group Chief Technical Officer and later as the Group Chief Operating Officer. He oversaw the rehabilitation of the old acquired NAFCON plant, associated facilities and infrastructure to a producing plant and supported the plant towards achieving best and maximum production.

He is a Chartered Engineer registered by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (FNSchE), a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), Professional Member of Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (MIMMM) UK, Chartered Engineer (CEng) of the British Engineering Council and a Member of Institute of Directors (IOD).

He has written various technical papers in the area of Well Engineering and has attended several technical and management programmes in Nigeria, Netherlands, UK, and USA. He is an alumnus of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) course of the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. 

Engr. Odita is currently the Managing Director/CEO of Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Limited, Nigeria since 2014.  He sits on the board of several companies.

Ebele Enunwa
Managing Director

BSC Accounting (21), MMH, FCA, MIoD

Sundry Markets’ Founder and CEO is Mr. Ebele Enunwa. He has Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Accounting from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria and a Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) Degree, School of Hotel Administration from Cornell University, New York with emphasis on Hotel and Chain Restaurant Management, Hospitality Real Estate Design, Hospitality Real Estate Investment, Finance and Development. 

He has a passion for the retail and hospitality industries in general and has also acquired fundamental expertise in property selection, design and development, investment and finance, restaurant management as well as food retail management through his involvement with Sundry Foods – a food retail company and Sundry Markets – grocery retailer he founded back in 2004 and 2015 respectively.

Prior to founding Sundry Foods and Sundry Markets – grocery retailer, Mr. Enunwa worked with Stanbic IBTC Bank (formerly IBTC), the premier Investment Bank in Nigeria and headed the bank’s regional office located in Port Harcourt where he acquired diverse experience in Business Assurance, Business and Financial Advisory, Funds Management as well as Investment Banking areas of the Financial Services Industry.  In his capacity, he ran the bank’s business in the entire South-East/South-South Region of the country, serviced several of Nigeria’s leading multinationals and was involved in structuring several transactions as well as worked on several mandates that have had enormous impact on the Nigerian Economy to date.

Mr. Enunwa is also a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He had a brief stint at Akintola Williams Deloitte.

He is also a Member of the Institute of Directors, Nigeria (IoD).

 

Ademola Alabi
Non-Executive Director

BSC Accounting (21), MBA, FCA

Prior to joining Frontier Oil Limited, Mr. Alabi was the Chief Operating Officer and Head of Investment Banking at Afrinvest (West Africa) Limited. He also previously worked with Oceanic Capital in Lagos and Bank of America Investment Banking Division in New York. Ademola holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Lagos and an MBA from the University of California and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Mr. Alabi is currently the Chief Financial Officer for Frontier Oil Limited – a Nigerian marginal oilfield operator – www.frontieroilltd.com.

Nnaemeka Obiakor
Non-Executive Director

LLB, MBA

Mr Obiakor started off his career in First Capital and then went on to work with FSB International before setting up his firm. He currently sits on the board of several companies including Sundry Foods Limited, Thames Capital, Colony Capital, and Arrow Construction. Nnameka has a Law Degree from the University of Benin and an MBA from ESUT Business School.

Mr Obiakor is currently the CEO for the Capital Index Group – a Nigerian financial services firm with various interests in sectors of the financial services industry.

Charles Mwebeiha
Non-Executive Director

(Ugandan)

Charles is a Co-Founder and Partner at Sango Capital. Prior to co-founding Sango, Charles was a principal and Chief Risk Officer at Destiny Corporation, a South African investment firm, where he was involved in structuring and negotiating a number of leveraged buy-out transactions. Prior to Destiny, Charles was a partner at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs, a leading South African corporate law firm, where he helped to build and ultimately headed the firm’s Africa Practice Group. Charles advised governments, multinational corporations, private equity funds and financial institutions on a variety of commercial, capital markets, private equity, M&A and project finance matters as well as on regulatory reforms. Charles started his career in private legal practice and also worked in capital markets regulation in Uganda.

Charles received a European Union/Carnegie Foundation Scholarship to study international trade law at the University of Pretoria/University of Amsterdam, receiving an LL.M with distinction. Charles also holds an LL.B from Makerere University. He sits on several fund advisory boards and portfolio company boards for Sango Capital.

Mr Mwebeiha is currently Co-Founder and Partner at Sango Capital LLP – a South African based Private Equity Fund – www.sangocapital.com.

Kwabena Bucknor
Non-Executive Director

Kwabena Bucknor is a Vice President at Tana Africa.

Previously Kwabena was an Associate in the Corporate Finance M&A division at Standard Bank in Johannesburg. Prior to this, he worked as an Analyst in Global Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley in New York.

Kwabena holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, International Relations and Asian Studies from Cornell University.

Chukwuka Osuigwe Chief Financial Officer

A chartered accountant with over 20 years of cognate experience in Accounting and Financial Management, Chukwuka is responsible for all accounting and tax compliance matters for the company.

Chuka (as he is fondly called) has a bachelor’s degree from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, and He has a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife (OAU). Chuka has so far obtained several Professional certifications/qualifications which including a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), Member Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI), Member Institute of Business Strategy (MIBS), and so on.

He is a seasoned strategic Finance Professional and Leader, who has been privileged to attend training and courses to obtain certifications from several prestigious global institutions and organisations. He is a trained Wharton Executive Education Finance Professional of the University of Pennsylvania, USA, and attended the Supermarket Management Class at IGA Coca-Cola Institute, Atlanta, USA. He is also a trained Business Leader from Lagos Business School (PAN African University) and various trainings and certifications in Dubai, UAE, and Europe.

He has participated in various local and international workshops and conferences, to mention but a few, RETECH (Renewal Energy Technology workshop) that takes place in Washington DC., USA.

With his wealth of local and global experience, he has been an integral part of all the organisations of the various industries of the economy he has found himself in, which includes Financial Consultancy, Oil and Gas, Telecom and presently in the Retail Industry where he is the Chief Financial Officer of Sundry Markets Limited.

Samuel Asegiemhe
General Manager, Retail Operations

Samuel is a distinguished professional in the retail industry, possessing over 20 years of extensive experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. He has occupied various leadership positions, including serving as a founding member and subsequently as the Regional Manager of Retail Operations at Retail Supermarkets, the proprietors of Shoprite in Nigeria.

Currently, Samuel holds the position of General Manager of Retail Operations at Sundry Markets Limited, where he supervises the operations of all our branches. His proficiency in retail operations is supported by comprehensive training undertaken both domestically and internationally, which has equipped him with best practices to enhance business efficiency.

Samuel possesses a Master of Science degree in Finance/Management from the University of Entrepreneurship and Technology in the United States. He is also a trained business leader from the Lagos Business School (Pan-Atlantic University) and is recognised as a chartered project manager by the Chartered Institute of Project Management of Nigeria. His vast experience and strategic leadership continue to propel operational excellence in Nigeria’s retail sector.

Tarisai Kuzamba
Head, Supply Chain

 

Our Head of Supply Chain, Tarisai brings 26 years of FCMG experience in both Operations and Supply Chain. He is in his element when it comes to the retail trade which is the only trade he has worked in since graduation from University. His experience in senior roles is spanned across six African countries. Zimbabwe, South Africa, DRC, Zambia, Ghana, and Nigeria. Almost all his work experience, in these countries, was with SPAR International and in his previous stint prior to joining us, he was with SPAR Nigeria in a similar role in charge of the Fresh Department. Tarisai’s experience and exposure to different modern trade markets bring rich added value to the success of our business.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and History from the University of Zimbabwe

Nancy Enunwa
Head, Treasury

Nancy is responsible for managing the entire span of the company’s working capital and banking relationships. A co-founder, she was a key part of the set-up and commencement of the company’s business and operations. A seasoned finance professional, Nancy worked through various disciplines of the banking industry over her 20 year work experience, leaving Standard Bank South Africa’s Global Operations (One-Ops program) to take on this challenge.

Nancy has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos and an MBA from the Lagos Business School (Pan African University).

Chidubem Enunwa
Head, Audit, Loss Prevention & Control

Chidubem is responsible for audit, risk management, loss prevention and compliance. Also a chartered accountant and chartered tax practitioner with close to 20 years of cognate audit experience from the banking, telecoms and then FMCG sectors, he comes equipped to handle the responsibilities of the company.

Chidubem has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Benin. He is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation Nigeria (CITN).

Collins Umweni
Human Resources Manager

Collins oversees the Human Resources function and is responsible for ensuring we have the right resources to man the various positions that ensure a fluent service delivery system across all locations. In working to achieve this objective, adequate care is taken to ensure we have the right cultural fit with the individuals we bring on board and that their skillsets are in line with the positions to be filled and that those skillsets stay up to date on an ongoing basis.

Collins has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Benin and a professional diploma in Human Resources Management. He is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN) and has completed several training programs in designing and implementing compensation and benefits plans (Philips Consulting), succession planning and career management, HR metrics and analytics, and payroll administration (CIPMN).

Collins is a cognate HR practitioner with over 15 years’ experience in his discipline, mostly from the oil & gas industry.

Oladayo Odujobi
Head, Information Systems

Oladayo is responsible for developing and overseeing our technological strategy while driving digital transformation and innovation across the organization.

With over 20 years of relevant IT experience in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas, Logistics, and Energy sectors, he is forearmed to manage the company’s responsibilities.Oladayo holds an MBA from Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Uyo.

Emmanuel Patrick Isangediok
Head, Marketing

Emmanuel Patrick Isangediok is a highly experienced marketing professional with over 15 years of expertise in retail, operations, market research, and business development. He has significantly contributed to marketing innovation and strategic growth within the retail sector in Nigeria.

Prior to his tenure at Sundry Markets Limited, Emmanuel served as the Head of Operations at Ponitec Markets Limited. He also held the position of Marketing Manager at Artee Industries Limited, which encompasses SPAR Nigeria Stores and various shopping malls, as well as Sundry Markets Limited. His comprehensive skill set includes marketing, visual merchandising, and store development, positioning him as a qualified leader in the industry.

Currently, Emmanuel is the Head of Marketing at Sundry Markets Limited, where he has been instrumental in the expansion of the company, particularly with regard to the launch of new stores in Lagos. His strategic methodologies emphasise customer attraction and revenue enhancement.

Emmanuel earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, located in Enugu State. His robust analytical abilities and problem-solving skills ensure that his marketing strategies are in alignment with overarching business objectives, thereby strengthening brand presence.
